Purpose of the field trip is to show teachers the rocks of the Mojave desert and how they are interpreted to represent to geologic history of California. Specifically to the Mojave Preserve, several outcrops along the Zzyzx road and Kelbaker Rd will be used as some of the stops for the field trip. The DSC is being used as a central location for overnight accommodation to support the goals of the field trip.
