The field trip is designed to expose first and second year undergraduate STEM majors to field based science disciplines such as geology, biology, ecology, and astronomy. While at the Desert Study Center we plan to visit the Mojave National Preserve (MNP). Location MNP we are planning to visit are the lava tube, Kelso Depot, Kelso Dunes, Granite Mountains, and the environs surrounding the Desert Study Center. This trip is an observation based ("show and tell") trip. There are no plans to collect, poke, or disturb the natural resources of the region.
