Santa Cruz Island Reserve

This visit is a field trip associated with the UCLA cluster. The topic of the class is "Evolution of the Cosmos and Life", and this trip will bring together students in seminars on a variety of social and natural science topics under that umbrella. The trip will focus on topics connected by change through time in various forms, including human-environment dynamics, the archaeology of the Channel Islands, island ecosystems, astronomy, etc. We will visit Christy beach, Valley Anchorage, and discuss the environment of the island as well as its use through time by humans.
