Santa Cruz Island Reserve
14 Dec, 11 AM - 16 Dec, 02 PM
The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County (NHM) is planning an outreach trip to Santa Cruz Island for museum members. This trip is intended as a scouting for the leaders of the larger trip to plan a schedule and sites to visit. The trip will be lead by scientists from NHM, including an archaeologist, herpetologist (general biologist), botanist, geologist, and a historian. The group would be based out of the UC Field Station and would take day trips to the West End, Isthmus, and possibly areas like Coches Prietos, Valley Anchorage, and Prisoner's Harbor. This trip would fulfill part of the NHM Mission to inspire wonder and responsibility for our cultural and natural world, and act as a educational experience for museum members who want to learn more about the Channel Islands and the importance of preservation of the island's resources.
