This application is for the Paso Robles High School Field Studies Collaborative Summer Field Biology course. Our group is conducting ongoing ecological monitoring projects focused on the island's flora. Specifically we are monitoring a wide variety of plant communities including grassland, chaparral, coastal sage scrub, pine forest and oak woodland. We also have two studies that are focused on the Bishop pine forests, and Stipa grasslands communities. Our summer trips last seven days and six nights on the island. We prefer to split our time between the field station and Christy ranch.
