Santa Cruz Island Reserve

I plan to survey endemic woody shrubs of Santa Cruz Island for Tamalia aphid galls, and collect samples of galls. This is part of an ongoing study initiated in 2001. The species of host plants I wish to sample include Comarostaphylis diversifolia, Arctostaphylos insularis, Arctostaphylos viridissima, and Arctostaphylos crustacea subcordata. The samples will be used for sequencing as part of a funded project on conservation genomics.
