Sample collection will entail hiking through Bishop pine stands on fireroads, trails, and wilderness area within 100 feet of active roads. Through this process, we will identify and collect Suillus pungens sporocarp tissue. We aim to collect 3-5 sporocarps per collection, where a collection is defined as a cluster of sporocarps collected within a 5 meter distance from one another. At a maximum, we will collect no more than 20 sprorocarp samples.
