We are both PhD candidates in the environmental science field, studying wildland fire management and effects at UC Berkeley. Our work focuses on fire and ecosystems in California. The unique ecosystems of the Channel Islands will serve as a getaway from the urban locale that we live in and inspiration for our writing.
