Landels-Hill Big Creek Reserve

05 Oct, 01 PM - 05 Oct, 05 PM

I will be teaching a weekend field geology course called Geology of Big Sur and Point Lobos (Geology 30), offered through Cabrillo College. The UC Big Creek Reserve allows access for students to explore rocks at the Big Creek River Mouth, where there is a diverse assemblage that represent rocks of the regional watersheds. The Interpretive Loop Trail offers a relatively short hike with spectacular views that are useful when describing many of the geologic processes and history that have formed and shaped the Big Sur region. Our visit to the UC Big Creek Reserve will be approximately half of our day exploring the Big Sur region.
