I plan to further develop my masters thesis while camping and hiking around the reserve on authorized trails. The focus of my thesis will be the management of extant and restored wildland vegetation communities, with an emphasis on maximizing resilience and supporting sensitive species. I am interested in visiting Big Creek Reserve to learn about the natural vegetation communities that exist there. If possible, I would like to see how the burned areas are recovering. I would also like to learn about restoration or vegetation management activities that have occurred in the reserve.
