Sarah Rabkin will be leading a writing workshop with fifteen participants. Please see her description below:
We humans arise from and depend on the larger-than-human world—so it's not surprising that when we pay attention to creatures, plants, air, water, and soil, we tap into wisdom we didn’t know we had. Writing can be a gateway to this kind of communion—what poet-philosopher Gary Snyder called “joyful interpenetration for all.” In this workshop, we'll explore language as a conduit to understanding. Writers and naturalists at all levels of experience are welcome. Bring a notebook and something to write with.
Sarah Rabkin is the author and illustrator of What I Learned at Bug Camp (Juniper Lake Press, 2011). A former teacher of writing, journalism, and environmental studies at UCSC, she works as a freelance editor and leads outdoor writing workshops in beautiful places. Sarah holds degrees in biology and science communication. She is currently seeking a publisher for her new book, The Quiet Activist: Healing the World by Doing What You Love.
