During our time at Quail Ridge, we will collect spiders using various collection methods, including hand collection, beat sampling, leaf litter sorting and pitfall trapping. We will collect in the daytime and in the evening after sunset. The goal of this project is to allow students the opportunity to conduct a more extensive field collection trip and spend more time together. We will arrive in the late afternoon, collect for an hour, have a picnic-style dinner, then collect at dusk into the evening.
