Quail Ridge Reserve

17 Nov, 08 AM - 17 Nov, 12 PM

I would like to resurvey the Bromus laevipes at Quail Ridge to understand whether the endophyte symbiosis has changed since I surveyed it for the first time over a decade ago (in 2009). I will collect a small amount of tissue (a tiller or a few seeds) from plants at the couple of sites where I previously surveyed at Quail. This will allow me to determine how common the endophyte symbiosis is now and how it has changed. Because I would only remove a tiller or a few seeds (same methods as previously used for surveys), the plant would continue to live in the field and I could use samples for endophyte detection back in the lab.
