I plan to seek out remnant populations of Ramalina menziesii lichen, that survived the recent fire. I will document the location of these populations, and I will collect fragments of individual lichens for confocal microscopy analysis. I will add colored thread to some of the lichens to mark burned parts in order to track growth and recovery. The main population I observed previously was near the picnic tables, though I am sure there are others.
