Thursday, April 25th: We plan to have students collect data on monkeyflowers (Diplacus aurantiacus), specifically whether or not flowers are pollinated or unpollinated, as indicated (roughly) by a closed stigma. We plan to measure distances between monkeyflower sub-shrubs to test if pollination is influenced by the relative isolation of sub-shrubs. Thursday, May 2nd: We plan to have students collect data on herps using the herp cover boards spaced throughout the preserve. Specifically, we plan to test whether herpetological diversity under herp boards is influenced by local vegetation cover and aspect.
