During this visit we will be conducting 'Accuracy Assessment' surveys which are part of a series of integrated steps indented to classify and map the Ca vegetation as a part of the statewide 'Survey of California Vegetation (SCV)' project being conducted by CNPS and CDFW. Surveys are usually conducted by one to two people, usually a short distance from a road so trampling is minimal. No permanent plots or monuments of any kind are installed. We characterize plant species composition within a site, take a few photos and a GPS point at each survey location.
