Angelo Coast Range Reserve
15 Jun, 07 AM - 15 Jun, 07 PM
We plan to collect data on a handful of biological, hydrological, and geomorphic indicators within the reserve. Each site-visit should take <2 hours (likely <1). Most indicators are measured through simple visual observation, with the following exceptions:
Collection of aquatic invertebrates (not expected, because all sites in the reserve are ephemeral): We will use a D-frame net or an aquarium net to collect aquatic invertebrates for 20 minutes. In dry streams, we will look for cases, exuviae, or diapausing individuals under boulders or on streamside vegetation.
Hydric soils: We will use a small garden trowel to look for hydric soils within 6 inhces of the soil surface at up to 3 locations within a 150-m reach.
