Angelo Coast Range Reserve

13 Nov, 03 PM - 13 Nov, 05 PM

I'd like to resurvey a couple of Bromus laevipes populations at Angelo to determine whether the symbiosis between the endophyte and the grass has changed, since it has been over a decade since I first surveyed (in 2009). I will collect a small amount of tissue (a few leaves or seeds) from plants at the two sites where I previously surveyed at Angelo. This will allow me to determine how common the endophyte symbiosis is now and how it has changed. Because I will only remove a tiller or a few seeds, the plant would continue to live in the field and I could use samples for endophyte detection back in the lab.
