Hastings Natural History Reservation

05 Jan, 12 PM - 23 Jan, 12 PM

The purpose of our trip is to oversee work being done to get our place rebuilt after the Tassajara Fire. Of course, we will also be doing field work at Hastings while we are there. In January Walt will check in with his project and help the grad students (Natasha and Mickey) catch birds. I will put out boxes for Oak Titmice on the same territories where Western Bluebirds have historically used boxes and within 10 m of the boxes that have been used by WEBLs. This is an experiment to see whether the declining Oak Titmouse is being excluded by competition with WEBLs. As such, it has important conservation implications.
