We plan to collect ~20 jumping spiders (Phidippus spp.) across various age groups in and around milkweed patches. Spiders will be frozen on dry ice and transported back to the Yang Lab for further analysis. We also plan to sample the arthropod community using sweep nets and pitfall traps in order to generate a reference library of potential prey items. Several representatives of each morphological type will be frozen as well and transported to Davis for taxonomic identification.
