My goal is to visit Hastings Reserve to fulfill the field/activity component of the Biogeography class that I teach. Experiential learning by visiting a diverse ecosystem, such as Hastings, reinforces concepts that we discuss in class. Moreover, the field trip will likely be followed-up with a Google Earth Engine lab to investigate the physical controls on vegetation patterns we observe on the field trip.
