The goal of the visit it to get students to experience a weekend of scientific research while being immersed in nature in a UC Reserve. The plan is to give the students an introduction to the biodiversity of the site through hikes around the reserve. We are also going to teach them how to collect environmental DNA samples (i.e. collection of soil/sediment/water samples) that will contribute directly to the CALeDNA database.
