We propose to visit the reserve to carry out maintenance work at the NCAR Integrated Sounding System (ISS) site approximately 0.5 mile south of the main buildings. The ISS has been deployed at this location since March 2020 for the SWEX Sundowner wind study being lead by Prof Leila Carvalho of UCSB ERI. The equipment at the site requires this maintenance work to ensure it remains in safe condition and is ready for the field measurements proposed for next spring. Four staff will work for 2 or 3 days at the site during this visit which is proposed for the May 24 - June 2 timeframe. All staff have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19, and will also keep to standard COVID protocols such as physical distancing, mask wearing, and hand sanitation.
