Individuals of Cebidichthys violaceus, Xiphister mucosus, Xiphister atropurpureus, andAnoplarchuhs purpurescens will be collected by hand and dipnet variously between the project duration at low tide from rocky intertidal habitats on the central California coast near Piedras Blancas (35.657N, 121.247W), Mill Creek, and Diablo Canyon areas. Fish collection will not take place on the reserve, but we will be using reserve space for fish dissections as well as for housing purposes during the multi-day fish collection trip
