Kenneth S. Norris Rancho Marino Reserve
26 Sep, 12 PM - 28 Sep, 12 PM
This class will expose Santa Ana College students (both non-science majors and science majors) to basic concepts in field ecology. They will explore different habitat types within the Rancho Marino Reserve and become familiar with the main abiotic factors determining the range and distribution of species found in these habitats. Beyond direct observation, students will engage in a minimal amount of non-manipulative measurements of abiotic variables using handheld tools without directly disturbing any substrate or organisms.
