We at CDFW, along with the Xerces Society, want to hold a field training event at Sagehen for our project the California Bumble Bee Atlas. The event will be all outdoors, free, short and optional, advertised for atlas trained participants to learn in-person how to survey for bumble bees. We will catch, chill, photograph and release bees on site, with the aim to teach participants how to safely survey for the atlas and inform them on the importance and diversity of these important pollinators, especially in the central Sierras.
