Blue Oak Ranch Reserve

30 Mar, 09 AM - 02 Apr, 02 PM

The goal of this trip will be to collect sperm and testes samples for a large comparative study of Songbird sperm morphology and genomics. We will specifically be targeting a suite of species that we missed in a previous trip in May of 2021. These include White-breasted Nuthatch, Oak Titmouse, and Steller's Jay. The nuthatch is of particular interest given preliminary data showing it has a highly unique sperm morphology relative to its congeners.
