We plan to collect leaf litter arthropods in burned and unburned areas using a standardized approach of sampling leaf litter, sifting this litter through a sieve, and placing the sifted litter in a Winkler trap for 24 hours. We will also collect data on soil moisture and pH at these sites. This will all be done during the day. In the evening, we will return to these sites and collect scorpions for a standardized search period. We are also working on another project in the lab that involves collecting riparian Tetragnatha spiders.
