Blue Oak Ranch Reserve

15 Sep, 09 AM - 15 Sep, 11 AM

I hope to collect a small amount of seed from ~100 plants located at either Alum Rock Park or the colony at the North gate, (I will only collect from one though, I just wanted to scout which one was healthier before I choose). The species can produce anywhere from 20-100 fruits/plant, and each fruit contains 20-60 seeds. The seeds are tiny (~1mm in diameter), so the total green weight would be less than a pound, because I would only collect 1-2 fruits per plant. I spoke to a senior environmental specialist at CDFW and was informed that I don't need any permits from them, because my species is common, with no rare plant ranking or state/federal listing.
