The Student Leadership Institute for Climate Resilience (SLICR) is a UC-wide initiative that is designed to engage students with a meaningful introduction to environmental justice action and sustainability on campus. Students participating in SLICR will be able to create a space to deepen their understanding of climate justice and develop critical leadership skills necessary to understand and empower personal and community resiliency to the impacts of climate change, and recognize how these effects are unevenly distributed among marginalized communities. We aim to strategically decolonize and dismantle the oppressive structures that exist locally and globally by learning from and uplifting each other, enabled by this transformative training.
