Team members will be setting up Malaise and pitfall traps upon arrival. These traps will be left for two nights and collected on the third day (Aug 16th). Soil will be collected from the pitfall trap holes for eDNA analyses. Water from the stream near the weather station will be filtered to collect eDNA, with all water returned to the site immediately. If conditions allow, we will collect aquatic invertebrates from the creek following the statewide SWAMP protocol. If possible, 2 - 3 cups of damp leaf litter will be sifted for invertebrates.
