I will be collecting kidnapper ants from the genus Polyergus and their host species in the genus Formica from soil using an aspirator. I will collect ants between the hours of 4-7 PM, when Polyergus ants go on raids of Formica nests, and immediately preserve all specimens in 100% ethanol for return to UC Berkeley.
