We are hosting collaborators from the University of East Anglia for a project on climate change impacts to prescribed burning windows. Our UAE colleagues (who have never seen prescribed fire or even wildfire) want to ground the research questions and details of the methods in real world applications. Thus, we are hosting them and making observations of different ages of prescribed burns and wildfires, viewing any active prescribed and wildfires during their visit, and meeting with fire managers and ecologists to better define the windows for prescribed burning for different objectives.
