200+ employees work in the visitor and resource protection branch in Yosemite alone. As these employees support the park's mission of conserving the scenery, natural and historic objects, and wildlife, as well as providing enjoyment to the public, they frequently experience stress and trauma. The National Park Service is working to improve the peer support provided to these employees. To support this initiative, we are hosting a 30-person 3-day peer support training. In order to allow participants a quiet, retreat-like opportunity where they will not be in the direct public eye, we are seeking use of the Yosemite Field Station.
