We are a group of African graduate students from different parts of the continent (Benin, Nigeria, Madagascar) who intend to have a two-day meeting to discuss how to implement an inclusive collaboration between researchers working on maritime anthropology and marine sciences in Africa. Given the current issues with climate change and its dastard effect on marine lives and cultural heritage resources on the coast fronts on the continent, we believe having a two-day meeting to discuss this critical issue will avail us the opportunity to proffer practical solution and make an adequate recommendation to our local policymakers and other stakeholders, on the best ways to address or mitigate this problem.
