We plan to bring at least seven PhD students in anthropology enrolled in a required methods course, along with two faculty members and more senior graduate students as mentors. We will have a series of sessions focused on different anthropological methods, including the "walking" method in which a researcher moves through a landscape with an interviewee to learn of their experiences of and perspectives on the landscape. Students will also use the time to work on a methods portfolio, which will include an annotated photo essay documenting the results of the walking method.
