I would like to continue with the "Media Ecology Lab" project. I am hoping to set up two automated recording devices at the reserve. These devices are on loan from the Cornell Lab of Ornithology, with whom I am collaborating. The "Swift Recorders" will record ambient sound from the desert-scape and any accompanying animal/bird sounds. In particular we hope to record the sound of signature species like the Road Runner and the desert coyote. If the staff at the desert research center can recommend other targeted species (Bighorn Sheep?) for recording, that would be great!
