It's rare that we have our whole program in the same space so we use the retreat as a way to create a more intimate community. Our activities at the research facility will include bonding exercises such as ice breaker games, movie nights, and preparing meals. We also use the time to discuss the needs and concerns of our graduate students and the program in order to report back to our administration. Our visits to Anza Borrego are also great opportunities for our group to change environments and refresh our minds as we work on our individual art practices.
