We will be sampling wild Cucurbita foetidissima, C. palmata and D. wrightii in and around Anza-Borrego Desert State Park to complete research for Howie Wier Grant awarded to Tessa Shates. We will take approximately 10 grams of tissue (~3 leaves) from about <20 individual plants, and collect aphids and whiteflies (<50 individuals) if found.
