Students take a winter term, 4-unit course on the history and cultures of the Colorado Desert, which is also framed in the context of deserts globally, and then participate in the week long program in the Colorado Desert itself. We will be mostly out in the field -- Anza Borrego Desert State Park, Coachella Valley, Salton Sea, Yuha Desert, and Yuma, and then crashing at night.
