Merced Vernal Pools and Grassland Reserve
23 Apr, 10 AM - 23 Apr, 02 PM
Practice field journaling and native plant identification techniques with Flora of California class. This is an opportunity for students to observe plant and animal species in natural, native habitats associated with California vernal pools and grasslands. It is also an opportunity to learn and practice the identification of California plants, including native plant species.
All activities planned are extremely low impact, and participants will be on foot. I anticipate no more than 15 participants, probably fewer, and all are UC students.
This activity will not impact or decrease the conservation value of the property and will only potentially enhance it by adding potential new observations for the reserve. All impacts will be light and observational. The reserve offers habitat attributes that are not available off the reserve, namely unmodified or lesser-modified natural habitats.
