We intend to conduct phenology checks of known rare plant reference populations that occur in the UC Merced Reserve to aid in rare plant surveys being conducted in other locations in Merced County. We plan to walk or drive (as appropriate, when road access is available) to known occurrences of these species (on the basis of California Natural Diversity Database records) and review selected populations as a visual reference. Photographs or field notes may be captured as appropriate to aid rare plant surveys conducted elsewhere in Merced County in 2023.
