This field visit is part of a day-long workshop. This afternoon portion of the spring meeting is to immerse attendees (who are mostly, researchers, ranchers, land managers, and land management agents) in practical application and demonstration of rangeland ecology and management principles. The theme for this meeting is Conservation Ranching: Practices, Benefits and Challenges, and during the visit to the MVPGR, we will discuss, vernal pool ecology, conservation grazing practices on the reserve, research on using remote sensing projects to measure forage production, and the monitoring network project.
