Kendall-Frost Mission Bay Marsh Reserve

20 Feb, 09 AM - 24 Feb, 12 PM

The wetland delineation training class teaches participants about wetland plants, waterlogged soils, and near-surface hydrology. The field visit would focus on plant identification, landform interpretation, and sampling protocols. The instructor would like to dig about a small holes to examine the soil (about 8 inches wide and 16 inches deep). The hole is dug just above standing water, at the edge of the estuary. When done, the soil is placed back in the hole. The bare soil is covered with leaves and duff. No collection any plant, seed or soil samples.
