Purpose of this visit is to check the sensors and time-lapse cameras. 1 g of plant samples (leaf, branch, root) and soil (100 cm3) will be taken from the creosote bush and brittle bush to check their soil water holding capacity, metabolites, and microbiome. After sampling, 1 inch water will be added to 8 creosote bush, 8 brittle bush, and 5 bare lands to take the same sample set in March to compare plant and microbial functions in dry and wet conditions.
