Boyd Deep Canyon Desert Research Center
30 May, 07 PM - 30 May, 11 PM
During this visit, our study team plans on collecting triatomine insects for analysis using sheetlighting and baited CO2 traps. We would like to prioritize collections at areas near human dwelling/habitation (campsites, buildings, etc) and areas with high volumes of desert woodrats or packrats. These areas have typically yielded the highest volume of triatomines due to their proximity to host species (rodents and humans). Study personnel already have nearby lodging, so we would only need to have permission to enter the reserve and collect triatomine insects at night.
