February 21st ! This is apart of our school wide service learning day. We are sending a group of students and staff to help pick up trash and take care of the environment. Students are going to be better informed about biodiversity and how to help take care of the planet. We also plan to assist with educating the public on tide pool etiquette at Scripps Beach. This includes discussing the importance of picking up trash, not trampling tidal pools, explaining what Marine Protected Areas are and why this area is a no-take zone. Our group will first get briefed on this information, and then they can act as docents, interacting with members of the public at the tide pools. It’s also a great chance for students to engage with the intertidal wildlife.
