Now that we have completed field surveys, we need to collect some seaweeds from the reserve to measure their functional traits. We have been able to collect most species elsewhere, but need to collect a few unique species (e.g, Zonaria farlowii) and individuals for comparison to other sites (e.g., Egregia menziesii) due to higher wave exposure at Dike Rock relative to our other Southern California sites.
