James San Jacinto Mountains Reserve
27 Jul, 12 AM - 27 Jul, 11 PM
We anticipate collecting seed from ~50 individuals on the reserve. Mimulus guttatus is common and locally abundant. Individual plants produce hundreds of seeds per fruit and dozens of fruits per individual. We will not sample >15% of the seed produced at the site. Mimulus guttatus has been documented several times along Indian Creek and Fulmor Lake. We will use either marked trails to access the creek, or if none exist, tread carefully to minimize damages.
We have spoken to interim director, Casey Woodall, and will be sure avoid areas with endangered frog species near the reserve's main stream. We additionally will be sure to use a foot dip before entering the stream area.
